  • Dr. Rao Bahadur Swaminatha Iyer Memorial Award 1988 by Indian Veterinary Association for a clinical paper, “Surgical repair of horizontal and vertical rami fracture in a bullock” published in the Indian Veterinary Journal, 1988.
  • Appreciation prize for paper entitled, “Evolution of bovine horn plates vis-a-vis stainless steel plates for tibial fracture repair in calves” by Indian Society for Veterinary Surgery in 1989.

  • Received “Camel Saviour Award 2010” from Lokhit Pashu Palak Sansthan for doing outstanding research in Camel Science.
  • Accredited International Camel Expert by the International Camel Organization, Saudi Arabia, OIE (now WOAH) and UNESCO, Paris.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Developed camel surgery specially the interdental wiring technique for repair of mandibular fractures in camels
  • Developed Camel Operation Theatre
  • Developed Minilaparoscopy technique for ovariohysterectomy in bitches
  • Developed ultrasonographic procedures for scanning the abdomen of dogs undergoing operations in animal birth control programme
  • Developed facilities in operation theatres, critical care, blood bank and postoperative wards with the help of generous donors.
  • Developed trevises for camel and equines with hoods
