ABSTRACT

This study has been conducted on 10 llamas (Lama glama), 5 male and 5 female to study the changes in haematological parameters in different seasons. Statistically significant differences were detected in the mean values of haemoglobin, packed cell volume (PCV), mean corpuscular haemoglobin concentration (MCHC), platelet and neutrophil count. Haemoglobin concentration was highest in summer. In spring and summer packed cell volume was higher than winter. Platelet count in spring differed significantly from that in winter and summer. Neutrophil count was significantly different in winter and spring. The significance of these findings has been discussed.
