ABSTRACT

This is the first report of a microsatellite assay, which detects bovine and caprine DNA in raw camel milk in different concentrations. Two microsatellites CVRL07 for camel milk and INRA23 for cow and goat milks were used. Fresh raw milk was sampled from 5 individual animals each of the 3 species. Camel milk was mixed with cow and goat milk in concentrations of 50, 10 and 1%. The microsatellite assay clearly identified pure camel, cow and goat milk, respectively, as well as the mixtures of bovine and caprine milk in camel milk.
